There
are basically two sources of revenue that end up doing into the Driver
Education Fund in Illinois:
1. RECEIPTS FROM SECRETARY OF STATE – 2/3 of
$ come from this resource
2. RECEIPTS FROM CLERKS OF CIRCUIT COURTS – 1/3 of $ come from this resource

*These fines are limited to certain traffic conviction which are
reportable to the Illinois Secretary of State.
For example, P Tickets (so called local ordinance tickets/parking
tickets are not reportable to Illinois Secretary of State, so there are no $$ that
go into the Driver Education Fund.
**Clerks must remit within 1 month to state treasurer and shall submit by
march 1 each year to the state comptroller a report of the amount of funds
remitted for the previous year. The
following items can result in a reduction of $$ going into the Driver Education
Fund:
