Driver Education
Reimbursement Assignment
Problem No. 1
The following represents an exercise in the completion
of a typical claim for reimbursement for driver education students in the state
of Illinois. The form ISBE 54-30 is to
be used as the basis for completion of the assignment. Send your answers via to safety@siu.edu
As a basis for completing the claim, utilize the
following information:
1.
90 students have enrolled in your high school driver education
program. 87 of them have completed the
laboratory phase while 89 have completed the classroom phase.
2.
One teacher has been engaged in the instructional phases of this
program. Her basic salary is $28,745
per year each. Sixty percent of her
salary should be given over to practice driving cost with 40% being given over
to classroom costs.
3.
One car has been utilized in the instructional program and maintenance
costs were $300.
4.
The operational costs for the above vehicle was a total of $200.
5.
Insurance costs for the driver education vehicle was a total of $240.
6.
There was $50 in supplies purchased for classroom use and $40 spent on
the practice driving supplies.
7.

Using the above data (1) determine the total amount
of money spent on the driver education program, (2) the amount of money that
might be claimed for reimbursement purposes and (3) then determine the per
capita cost of your driver education program.
