10 Leading Causes of Death in the United States

Review this interesting table.  You will see that injuries (unintentional and intentional) are the leading cause of death for persons ages 1-44.

 

Look at State Injury Profiles contain maps and tables of injury deaths and death rates for the State of Illinois (you will need Adobe Reader to view these data).  The data from Illinois is also compared with that of the United States. This profile also includes descriptions of CDC-sponsored injury prevention programs and research activities in Illinois.

CDC, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control Injury Data Review the unintentional injury and intentional injury (violence) data.  Review some of the Public health information fact sheets on specific injuries (home and leisure, motor vehicle, and violence).

Report on Injuries in America Review this National Safety Council report of injuries in the United States and why we (as a community) need to resolve this issue.
