Basic School Safety Background and Topics

Reading Assignment – Volume 1, pages 57-70

Review the basis for safety education in school, the needs, interest, aims, behavioral objectives (know the different parts), activities, course of study, administrative responsibilities, good environment for instruction, goals of safety education, safe school environment, approaches to teaching safety education, and safety topics.   Determine what five (5) safety topics should be taught to students in grades pre-K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.
